Iran Weapons Trafficking: Woman Arrested at LAX for Sudan Aid
Shamim Mafi, a 44-year-old Iranian national, was arrested at LAX on suspicion of facilitating the transfer of weapons from Iran to Sudan. Federal prosecutors allege Mafi acted as an intermediary in the arms trade, involving drones, bombs, and ammunition destined for the Sudanese Armed Forces. The arrest comes amid Sudan's protracted civil war, which has caused a significant humanitarian crisis. Mafi is scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court on Monday and could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
