Trump Attempt: Selfie Before White House Attack, Prosecutors Say
Federal prosecutors filed a court document alleging that Cole Tomas Allen took a selfie in his hotel room about 30 minutes before his attempted attack on the White House Correspondents' Dinner. The filing highlighted that the photo showed Allen in possession of items consistent with weapons and ammunition bags later recovered from him. Allen, a 31-year-old from California, was apprehended by Secret Service officers after attempting to breach security to target President Donald Trump. Prosecutors used the evidence, including the selfie, to argue for his detention without bond. A hearing regarding his detention is scheduled for Thursday.
