US Crude Oil Exports Surge to Record Amid Gulf Instability
U.S. crude oil exports have surged to record levels, with the Port of Corpus Christi becoming a major hub for global energy shipments. This dramatic increase is linked to geopolitical instability and blockades affecting major ports in the Persian Gulf, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz. In April, U.S. exports hit 5.2 million barrels per day, marking a more than 30% jump from pre-disruption levels. Port activity in Corpus Christi has been historically high, with March noted as the busiest month on record, underscoring the critical role of U.S. infrastructure in global oil trade.
