FBI Agents Sue Bondi, Patel Over Trump Probe Firings
Three former FBI agents have filed a class-action lawsuit against Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel, claiming they were illegally fired for their involvement in investigations into former President Donald Trump. The suit alleges political retribution and mass firings without due process, referencing compilations of "enemy" lists within the FBI. The agents worked on special counsel Jack Smith's cases regarding Trump's 2020 election actions and classified documents, both of which were dismissed or withdrawn following Trump's 2024 election victory. If successful, the lawsuit could pave the way for approximately 50 other agents fired under similar circumstances to regain their positions. The Justice Department is confronting several analogous lawsuits from former FBI personnel. The FBI has not provided a statement on the matter.
