The U.S. Department of Justice announced the arrest of U.S. Army soldier Gannon Ken Van Dyke. Van Dyke faces charges for allegedly using classified information to win $400,000 on the Polymarket prediction market. The bets were reportedly tied to the military operation that resulted in the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro. DOJ officials stressed that service members are strictly prohibited from leveraging sensitive national security data for personal financial gain. Van Dyke is expected to appear before a federal magistrate judge in North Carolina.
