According to police reports, the shooter, identified as 31-year-old Shamar Elkins, opened fire across three residences in Shreveport. The victims included:
- Eight children: Three boys and five girls, aged between 3 and 11.
- Other victims: Elkins also shot his wife, Shaneiqua Pugh, and another woman, Christina Snow, who was the mother of three of the deceased children.
