Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly visited the New Alamein Festival on July 31, 2024, using the occasion to launch the second year of the ‘100 Million Health’ initiative. The festival, organized by the United Company for Media Services, showcases urban development in the North West Coast region, particularly in New Alamein City.During his visit, Madbouly inspected mobile medical units and emphasized the importance of the health initiative in achieving the Egyptian state’s vision of building a healthy and safe society. ‘We are launching the second version of the 100 Million Health Initiative, which targets providing advanced healthcare services to citizens in remote areas where such services are lacking,’ Madbouly stated.The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of festivals like the one in New Alamein in promoting tourism and attracting investments. ‘These types of events promote Egypt abroad in a more wonderful way,’ Madbouly explained, noting that Arab and foreign officials he meets speak positively about Alamein based on what they see from these festivals.Madbouly also emphasized the government’s focus on developing Matrouh Governorate as a future extension of the state, moving beyond its traditional role as a seasonal destination. ‘With the large development in the city of El Alamein and other projects implemented by the state, it contributes to overcoming the problem of limited job opportunities,’ he stated.The New Alamein Festival features over 20 diverse activities, including theatrical performances, sports competitions, and cultural events, aiming to cater to different interests and attract tourists from various nationalities. This aligns with the government’s strategy to drive economic development and provide new job opportunities for young Egyptians.
