Seven Injured as Minibus Overturns Near Anapa, Russia; Driver Suspected of Falling Asleep

A Volkswagen Transporter minibus overturned near Anapa, Russia, on August 15, 2024, at approximately 4 am, resulting in injuries to seven passengers. The accident occurred on the Novorossiysk-Kerch highway near Tarusino village, with 19 passengers on board. According to Major Viktor Yarushyevsky, commander of the separate patrol unit of the GIBDD of the OMVD in Anapa, the 56-year-old driver is suspected of falling asleep at the wheel while privately transporting passengers from Vladikavkaz to Anapa.All passengers survived the incident, but seven required medical attention and were taken to the hospital. The Krasnodar region’s Interior Ministry and local law enforcement are currently investigating the accident.This incident is part of a series of recent traffic accidents in the region. In Corum, Turkey, a car crash resulted in the deaths of two individuals, Ali Esmer (38) and Şaban Bulcu (53), when their vehicle collided with a tree on Osmancık Street in Ulukavak Mahallesi.
